Finsec Law Advisors organises the Securities and Financial Regulations Round Table to examine some of the critical issues which affect industry, intermediaries and investors. The round table is a part of our continuing efforts to engage with financial market experts and key decision makers within regulators, academia and industry to produce both debate and recommended outcomes.

Edition I

March 28, 2014

 

Finsec Law Advisors organised the inaugural edition of the round table in 2014. The main topics for discussion were as follows:

  • Issues pertaining to investment funds such as alternative investment funds and mutual funds.
  • The new foreign portfolio investment regime.
  • Emerging financial regulatory architecture such as regulations on investment advisers and research analysts, and the revised corporate governance norms.

Finsec Law Advisors organised the second edition of the round table in 2015. The main topics for discussion were as follows:

  • The new insider trading regulations, 2015.
  • Differentiated banks and payment systems.
  • Implications of research analyst and investment advisers regulations.

April 29, 2016

Finsec Law Advisors organised the third edition of the round table in 2016. The main topics for discussion were as follows:

  • Rights and Remedies available to Institutional Investors: Various rights available to Institutional Investors and measures available for dispute resolution and enforcement of rights were discussed.
  • Role of Institutional Investors: Role of Institutional Investors in corporate decision making with a focus on special situations, including, related party transactions, fraud, conflict of interest, mergers, takeovers etc. was discussed.
